Organization Description 

Welcome to the Healing Roots Community! We are a Nonprofit organization serving the community at large, and working tirelessly to remedy disparities in the educational system and beyond. At Healing Roots Online School, our teachers grow future leaders who are devoted to cultivating a peaceful generation. Since we want only the best for our students, we place tremendous importance on finding educators that will bring additional compassion, unwavering dedication and inspiration. Our teachers have a common core belief that every child was born for a unique and beautiful purpose and our educators are here to help each child along their journey. 

We are a grassroots initiative, and also seek multiple professional helping hands to fully execute our mission. Since we serve the Homeschooling community primarily, we seek individuals who are familiar, or have been immersed in this environment. 

Teaching Position Description

All Educators selected must first complete 1 year of Volunteer Teaching Service to HROS in order to qualify for a paid position. Depending upon teachers availability- approximately 2- 15 hours per week for 31 weeks per year of volunteer teaching. We will design your teaching schedule around YOUR availability whether you are available 2 hours a week or 12 hours/ week. We welcome you and your commitment helping us develop a revolutionary education program accessible for all students. After sincere demonstration of grassroots commitment to healing the roots of education- upon review- each volunteer teacher will then be qualified for a paid position at HROS. HROS will provide Professional Recommendations, teacher support, flexible scheduling and guarantee the position for the duration of the year. Going forward, HROS aims to procure like minded educators both esteemed and passionately dedicated to the mission and growth of the organization, working to remedy the educational system.

Requirements

• 3 years minimum teaching experience with 1 year teaching online.

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, or specialized field in which you would be teaching ie Literature, Mathematics, Social Studies etc

• Flexible, able to roll with changes, animated, excited teacher.

• Thrives in a creative, ever-evolving environment.

• Comfortable with grass-root startups.

• Creative and innovative

• Able to follow curriculum plans while incorporating unique, fun, and engaging projects.

• Kind, compassionate person who honors childhood and is inspired to help children grow their unique abilities.

• Believes that all kiddos are unique and brilliant.

• Radiant reviews from parents and employers.

• Experience with Google Workspace and Classroom.

• Excellent Tech skills

• Works well independently and on a team.

• Strong, tactful work ethic and maintains integrity and honesty.

• Specializes in at least one of the required teaching subjects.

• All teachers must have their own substitutes if the there is a teacher absence

Preferred Abilities

• • Can teach K-12th grade

  • Experience homeschooling

  • Special Education background

  • Masters Degree

  • Teaching license

  • Bilingual
